This Cowboy Rides Alone

This Cowboy Rides Alone
(c) Copyright 8/22/10 Slim Cahill

During the night she passed away
buried her on a hot... summer... day
He saddled up took what he needed
a picture a locket and her memories
looking back at the old place
just gave another tear on his face

He would watch her sleep in her restless nights
trying to cumfort her wishing she'd be all right
As She closed her eyes she squeezed his hand so tight
He knelt down next to her,
and kissed her for one last time
Then the angles came and this man cried....
this man cried

His life no longer the same the place no longer a home
with a picture a locket and her memories
This cowboy rides alone

He could see her standing at the door
smiling as she had done so many times before..
Hanging clothes up on the line, making dinner, a little wine
You'd see love in her eyes,
And You could see love in her smile..
Thats how everyone knew she was his life...
this man cried

But now with just a picture a locket and her on his mind
he closed the gate for one last time

His life no longer the same the place no longer a home
with a picture a locket and her memories
This cowboy rides alone

Another tear as he turned away...
buried her on a hot summer day..
The old place no longer a home.
.This cowboy, this cowboy rides alone..
a picture a locket and her memories
were the only things, he'd charish these...
This cowboy rides alone
She was his only one

This Cowboy Rides Alone (Slim Cahill & Neil Cotton)

Buried her on a hot summer day
She is gone but memories remain

He watched her sleep that restless night
He stroked her hair hoping she's all right
She closed her eyes squeezed his hand tight
He kissed her lips one last time

Then her angels came and this man cried....
this man cried

His life is no longer the same
Their place is no longer a home
With her picture in her locket and his memories
This cowboy rides alone
This cowboy rides alone

He sees her hanging clothes on the line
Humming as she’s done so many times
She makes dinner,pours red wine
There’s true love in her blue eyes.

She was his angel before she died
This man cried

His life is no longer the same
Their place is no longer a home
With her picture in her locket and his memories
This cowboy rides alone
This cowboy rides alone

He buried her one hot summer day
A tear fell as he turned away
With his life in his hand and her on his mind
He closed the gate one last, one last time.

His life is no longer the same
Their place is no longer a home
With her picture in her locket and her memories
This cowboy rides alone
This cowboy rides alone
She’s his only one
This cowboy rides alone
